ABOUT

Hi, I'm Sarah
a.k.a. The Fairhope Worm Lady (and proud of it!)
I grew up in downtown Mobile and earned my degree from the University of Virginia before starting my career with the American Red Cross in Miami. I met my husband, a Coast Guard pilot, in Orange Beach—and spent the next two decades moving with his career, living in Hawaii and across the mainland while raising our family.
Now settled in Fairhope, I've brought my whole self to our community: I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in ADHD and adolescent therapy, founder of the Fairhope Compost Project nonprofit, and someone who genuinely believes in the power of growth – whether that's personal healing or transforming waste into nourishment.
My work is rooted in a simple belief: that people and communities thrive when they feel supported, understood, and empowered to change. Over the past two decades, I've managed nonprofits and volunteers, facilitated groups from boardrooms to classrooms, and learned that nature (from a therapy garden to a compost bin) teaches us everything about growth, cycles, and care.
When I'm not working, you'll find me in my garden, kayaking, volunteering at a local event, or on a walk in the Flying Creek Nature Preserve with my therapy dog, Poppy.
